December30
This is probably the biggest freeze I’ve seen here in a long time. I’m getting a little fed up of it now, especially after today!
I’ve got a couple of days off work and Dad’s still on holiday so he said he’d take me out to get some photographs. I haven’t had the camera out in months so I was quite happy. That was of course, until the car got stuck on a hill. Now you’re probably thinking we’re numpties for going out in the car in this weather and yes, we were but until that point, the roads were actually pretty good!
I told him not to drive down that particular hill ’cause we’d never get back up on the way home but what did he do? He drove down the bloody hill. An hour later, he’s chopping away at the ice with a shovel as the car couldn’t get back up. He forgot his phone and mine only had a single bar of battery showing. The bar was enough to phone mum, only for her to call dad an idiot and leave us to it.
Even the local radio station was mocking us. Their song choice was very tasteful for our situation. As dad tried to get the car back up the hill for the 40th time, Black Eyed Pea’s “Meet me half way” was playing and at the point when the wheels started spinning and we started falling back down the hill, Fergie’s line “I can’t go any further than this” emits from the speakers. To top it off, a song by Snow Patrol came on straight after. Then followed a discussion on weddings and something about metaphorically “breaking the ice” while dad is painstakingly hacking away at some very real ice around the car.
We did eventually get back on the road, and I can’t describe the relief I felt of being away from the edge of that road. There was nothing but a drop down to some rocks and the water on my side. I’ll have to post a pic of it later. The most disappointing thing was that it probably wasn’t even worth it! I don’t think I got any decent photographs today.
Ahh…typical, as I finish writing this it has just started snowing really heavily. Again.

“She” would be my mum.
Seemingly it’s irreparable. So that’s thousands of files, years worth of photographs etc. Gone. What do you do when you lose your back-up?!
Now I really need to get that machine upstairs fixed, so I can hopefully recover some of those photographs. It’ll probably cost an arm and a leg so I’ll hold off for now. I need my arm and leg. :(

Still alive! Just quieter online than usual.
I don’t have much to write, or at least nothing I want to blog about to everyone. No new photos…nothing
Oh goody!
Oh actually…I could write a very rambly rant about how much I severely dislike Farmville and Cafe World (on Facebook for those lucky enough to have never heard of ‘em) but I would be here for a while and seeing as it’s nearly midnight, I’ll save that for another time. Hopefully not three months later…like this entry.
‘night!

I feel like an old wifey sitting here in my chair with a hot water bottle and a blanket (well…it’s a large cardi). I just can’t keep warm today
My feet are completely white, there’s no colour (or feeling!) in ‘em and they’re like two blocks of ice; my hands are pretty much the same. Deary me…
On the bright side, Sapphie seems to like the hot water bottle so she was cuddling into me
She’s been a bit of a nutter this week, coming in from the garden and dropping banana peels at my feet. Or coming inside meowing really loudly at 2am…of course I have to get up then and see what’s wrong – she usually makes that noise when she’s caught a bird/mouse/worm/moth/neighbour’s mail but naw – nothing. She’s just being smarmy and using cheap tactics to get in our room.
I added some new photographs last night, a couple of the cats too:
Gosh…I must come across as one of those stereotypical crazy old cat ladies! I’m forever talking about them in my blogs
I love them to bits though – they’re such characters!
Other photos added:
Whoaaah, that adds quite a length to this post. They don’t seem to want to sit beside each other. Makes it look like I’ve written a decent sized entry for once
Anyway, you can view all of those in the gallery now too.
I have this little “creative” splurge going on right now. I’ve been drawing a fair bit too and need to go and buy some new oil pastels for myself. I also dug out my box of Fimo, so I’ve been messing around with that…although I’m yet to come up with anything interesting because I need to buy some more! I’m making do with old crumbly scraps right now…not much use.
So, if you stalk my blog you may have noticed that there are jazzy new images on the right which link to the main sections of the website. All the credit for that goes to a really helpful guy on TSR who offered to sort the code for me!
It had been winding me up for a few days, I couldn’t figure it out.
Ah well, that’s about all I’ve got to say for now.

I can’t say this buddy is welcome in our house. He caused an awful lot of drama tonight.
We were just sitting in the living room talking about something I can’t remember when Mimi shouts “SPIDER!”
I was expecting the usual piddly ones but this one was HUGE. It is honestly the biggest spider I have ever seen in a house. Me, Mimi and Caitlin were standing on the sofa screaming; mum was effing and swearing at it and my dad calmly got a glass to put over it. Then I had fun taking heaps of photos of it

It’s not the best picture. It was pretty dark and the flash was the only way I could capture something other than a brown blur. We sent a picture to my aunt who seems to get these all the time. Her reply was “That’s a start!”
A start? It’s bloody massive…
Arrr…what if they’ve been breeding in here? There could be hundreds of these little buggers lurking around. I have this nightmarish image of me waking up to one on my duvet. I literally shivered typing that
I don’t understand why I’m scared of them. Little ones are fine, I’ll rescue them before my mum takes her shoe to them but I can’t deal with these ones! I hope it’s a one off.
Anyway, so I had my first ever job interview today. I was ridiculously nervous but I got the job
Now I’m even more “ridiculously nervous”. Hope it all goes okay, I have my induction tomorrow. =S
Na-niight :]
I’ll leave you with this one:
